RAILA’s CORD demands immediate ARREST of Governor for chasing away British Diplomats - even UHURU has no such powers.

Tuesday November 27, 2013 - Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga’s Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has demanded for the immediate arrest of Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor, Daniel Chemmo, for flushing out British diplomats in Eldoret.

Speaking on KTN yesterday, CORD represented by Ruaraka MP, Tom Kajwang, noted that the Deputy Governor overstepped his mandate and that he should be arrested and jailed for creating a simmering diplomatic relationship between Kenya and the UK.

Kajwang said the Deputy Governor had no powers to flush out anybody from his county let alone diplomats.

The ODM legislator further noted that not even President Uhuru Kenyatta had such powers to unceremoniously and forcefully eject a diplomat from Kenya aimlessly without serious diplomatic consequences because they enjoy diplomatic immunity.

This comes even as Kenya stepped up efforts to woo British tourists to Kenya and begged the UK Government to reverse a travel advisory to Kenya following the Westgate attack.
