November 27, 2013 - Bishop Paul Kariuki of Catholic Diocese of Embu has lashed out at the US/ UK and France accusing them of undermining the sovereignty of Kenya.
Speaking in Embu yesterday, Bishop Kariuki accused the West of compounding Kenya’s problems by failing to support deferral of cases facing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, at the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying the action to abscond from voting at the UNSC was clear indication that they never had the interest of Kenyans at heart.
The man of God said Uhuru/ Ruto should never go to The Hague and told the international community to understand that Kenyans need their President and Deputy to govern them while in Kenya and not in The Hague.
He further said in as much as the whites want to focus on the 2008 post election violence to nail Uhuru/ Ruto, it should be clear to them that Kenyans have moved on and are on a healing and reconciliation path and that Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government had already settled the victims.
